The Right Wing has apparently gained another reader, and for that we are thankful.
(12) TCU at (8) Utah
Utah is looking to bust the BCS open, as is Boise State. The Utes have quite a challenge this week in the form of TCU. TCU is not in a BCS conference, either, so they’re looking to show off for the voters. This game is hard to call, because our prediction staff has only seen one of these teams play, and that’s TCU.
Final Score: Utah 38, TCU 34
(11) Ohio State at (24) Northwestern
We correctly predicted Northwestern to upset Minnesota last week, and we’re darn proud of that fact. This week, the Wildcats face a much more daunting task, as they host Ohio State. The Buckeyes are looking to build a case for a possible Rose Bowl berth. RB Beanie Wells is making a case for a draft spot in the NFL, and QB Terrell Pryor wants to prove he belongs.
Final Score: Ohio State 37, Northwestern 20
(13) Georgia at Kentucky
Georgia is coming off one of the worst losses in recent memory. A 49-10 trouncing at the hands of Florida has opened the eyes of Bulldog nation. Now, the Wildcats of Kentucky open the doors of their home stadium to Georgia, and the Dawgs are looking for a measure of revenge. Matthew Stafford needs a big game to reclaim his spot as one of the top QBs in the nation. Look for a solid attack from the Georgia Offense and steady play from the D.
Final Score: Georgia 34, Kentucky 14
(1) Alabama at (16) LSU
The Curse of the #1s might or might not continue with this battle in Baton Rouge. Georgia went into the Bayou two weeks ago and hung 52 on the Tigers. ‘Bama will look to do the same thing. But LSU always plays the Tide tough. Right now, the only thing really hurting LSU is their Quarterback situation and good play from the defense may push them over in this one. We’re going out on a limb here…
Final Score: LSU 24, Alabama 23
(9) Oklahoma State at (2) Texas Tech
Texas Tech went from 7th to 2nd as a result of a last second victory over #1 Texas. The Cowboys of Oklahoma State have one of the best offenses in the game, but then again, so does Texas Tech. This game as “shootout” written all over it, as evidenced by last year’s meeting, which netted nearly 100 combined points. Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree are making a case for the co-Heisman Trophy.
Final Score: Texas Tech 47, Oklahoma State 42.
