The Middle East pt. II

I've just about had enough of this. Israel pulls out of Gaza, then rockets are launched FROM Gaza. Israel pulls out of the West Bank, Hamas launches rockets FROM the West Bank. Israel withdraws from southern Lebanon, Hezbollah attacks FROM southern Lebanon. There is a pattern here. The world demands Israel show restraint. Israel shows restraint. Israelis DIE because of restraint.

Now, Israel, like many other nations and people, is fed up with the seemingly free pass being given to terrorist organizations like Hamas and Hezbollah by the world. Eight Israeli soldiers die, two are captured, and immediately the world calls for Israel to show retraint, before Israel had done anything. I'm proud of Israel for taking a stand. My only wish is that the US and Britain would stand firm with them.

You really hit the nail on the head Blake - good post.

I think it's about time Israel cleaned house. It's ironic that the UN seems to be siding with people like Hamas and Hezbollah by asking Israel to 'go easy on them'. Why should they when every week it seems another suicide bomber has taken out some corner grocery store?

It's war folks - collateral damage happens. It's time for the UN to grow a backbone.
